What is the Timothy project?

The Timothy Project exists to encourage and equip people who are called to Christian leadership, vocational ministry, or cross-cultural missions by providing biblical and theological education, intentional mentorships, vocational and missional experiences, pastoral and leadership conferences, and various publications.

“You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”

2 Timothy 2: 1-2

Chad Hunsberger
I have been in ministry for over 20 years and have served churches in Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi. I attended Samford University in Birmingham, and while serving at a church, I met Gloria. We were married soon after graduation in 2004. I completed my Master’s degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2010 and earned my Doctorate of Ministry from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2014. Gloria and I have four children; Abigail, Luke, Lottie, and Zeke. I have been blessed with opportunities to train church leaders and preach the gospel throughout the United States and in over 20 countries, but one of my greatest blessings is to serve as Lead Pastor at Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Ridgeland, MS.

Jerry Welch

I am honored to serve as Family Discipleship Pastor and Elder at Colonial Heights Baptist Church. A little about me: I married my best friend, Julie, in March of 1996. She and I have been blessed with three amazing kids who are now teaching us how to parent and love unconditionally through the teenage (and college) years. I have served on the staff of churches in Texas, Alabama, and Mississippi for the last twenty five years. I love education and teaching and organizing things. I am typically the "detail guy." I earned a PhD in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I enjoy editing Chad's books, teaching in our college ministry, and training the next generation of Christian leaders.
