Omega West Asia Team – Update #1

WE MADE IT!!

Firstly, we would like to thank all of you for your faithfulness in prayer and for staying updated on our progress as we journey abroad. You’ll be delighted to know that we’ve arrived safely at our destination and are excited to begin our work alongside our church partners.

Looking back on our training for this moment, overwhelming gratitude remains. Not only did Dr. Kristen White equip us for the next six weeks, but she also provided us with an arsenal of skills to carry for a lifetime. Our home churches will surely benefit from her wisdom and expertise. We’ve developed leadership and cross-cultural skills, such as the nuanced art of contextualization. In becoming “Great Commission Christians,” each of us has experienced significant personal growth. Even more, we’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve Colonial Heights throughout our two weeks of preparation. It truly cultivated our love for and furthered our understanding of the significance of the local church.

We believe it is the duty of the local church to mobilize and send out fieldworkers; thus, we were honored to be commissioned by Colonial Heights’s congregation in both services this past Sunday morning. It’s a wondrous thing to be prayed over by faithful servants of God’s Kingdom. We flew out Sunday night at 5:10 PM from the Jackson airport and arrived safely in West Asia on Monday night (CT).

Moving forward, we primarily ask for prayer. So many of you have been going to the Lord on behalf of our safety while traveling, and we’re beyond thankful! We would love it if you could also join us in praying that God allows us to be a blessing to the fieldworkers stationed here, that we would be an immediate encouragement and make a strong impact by serving in whatever capacity is needed. Again, thank you so much for your faithfulness!

With Joy,

The Omega Team in West Asia
