Omega West Asia Team – Update #3
Syntax, Setbacks, and Summer Camp:
This past Tuesday, our four team members packed into a van with six others and traversed the countryside to the home of a generous friend. There, we were introduced to twelve young individuals, each looking to broaden their understanding of the English language (and hang out with their friends). We introduced them to common greetings, the titles of different family members, and the names of each body part in the classic hit, “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.” However, the best part of working with these children must be the opportunity to engage with their unreached village through a mere language lesson. We ask that you join us in praying that the Lord uses our time with these few to eventually bring Himself glory from their people group.

Interestingly enough, we planned to do the same activities in another area with a different village; however, we were swiftly rejected upon arrival and asked to leave. Thus, we reached out to our hosts from Tuesday, requesting the use of their home again to meet with our previous students a second time. As we know that God ultimately strives “according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace,” your humble author believes this to be less of a setback and more of a step forward (Eph. 1:5-6). May we praise our Lord for His faithfulness to the exaltation of His great name among all nations!

As Friday rolled around, we switched gears to focus on next week’s agenda: five long days of worship songs, gospel proclamation, and recreational fun! We met the leadership and volunteers and prepared the facilities for the eighty campers we’ll welcome on Monday morning. We’re beyond excited to witness God move amongst the twenty languages represented, some of which belong to unreached ethno-linguistic groups whose youngest generations will hear the good news of salvation for the first time this summer.

Please continue to pray for the fieldworkers stationed here; their steadfastness to prepare the soil, plant the seeds, and water them daily has thoroughly inspired us. Thank you for your investment in our journey as we support them!

With Joy,
The Omega Team in West Asia
Oh, we’re halfway there!
Living on many prayers (thank you!), our team…
