Omega Scotland: Report #4

Lily and Anna spent this week helping the Lambhill church with their holiday club, which is their version of VBS. After preparing for two weeks and painting sets they got to see children come in and hear about God’s word. They had a ton of new kids come in that have never even stepped foot in church before, which was such an answered prayer as they did not expect to have many kids especially new ones. The girls were team leaders, led craft time, games, dances to some songs, and even participated in some silly leader challenges to make the kids laugh.

The theme was: Jesus is my Superhero. This meant the kids got to hear stories about Jesus and his hero’s mission to save the world. Lily and Anna got to see the children engage with God’s word and get excited about learning, which answered so many prayers. Please continue to pray for the children of Lambhill that they would continue coming to the church to hear about God’s word.

This past week, Abi had the opportunity to serve in a variety of ways throughout the community. On Sunday, she helped serve at the community lunch following the church service. She also attended a weekday service held in a church building that is no longer used as a church and now operates as a museum. A small group of about eight elderly people gathers there every Monday and Friday to read Scripture together, where she had the opportunity to read a portion of Isaiah and a passage from the Gospel of John for everyone. During the week, she attended the church’s prayer meeting, participated in Games for Life, prepared Mexican food for the Bible study at the home where she is staying, and shared her testimony with the group that night. She went with the weekly walking group around Govan, visited a care home with the pastor and his certified therapy dog, and returned for another Games for Life gathering on Friday.

Please continue praying that seeds would be planted in those we are doing ministry with and that we would have the endurance to finish strong.
We will fly home on Thursday, July 16. We will participate in some debriefing activities on July 17-18 before attending Colonial Heights BC on Sunday, July 19. At 12:30 – 2:00 pm, we will facilitate a Share & Tell over a pizza lunch. We hope you can come and hear about all that God has done in and through us this summer. Please RSVP here to attend: https://theexchange.ccbchurch. com/goto/forms/641/responses/ new
Until all have heard,
Omega Scotland
