Omega West Asia Team – Final Update

Final Update

I can’t believe we’ve come this far! We want to thank you for your faithfulness to stick with us until the end; we hope to see you soon, as we will touch down on American soil in less than a week. We fly out Thursday morning and – using a little time travel – land that same night, around 8PM. While we’re excited to return home, we also desire to finish well, and we believe we began that process as we completed our last two English lessons.

On Tuesday, we picked up where we left off in the Creation narrative, teaching most of days 4-6. We spent the next day prayer walking the local area and preparing for our weekly book discussions. Throughout our stay, we’ve been discipled by a couple stationed here, who’ve had us study a book on cross-cultural servanthood. It has been a formative experience for everyone on our team and an essential part of this program. We completed the story of Creation on Thursday, explaining how God made humanity to fill the Earth then, on the seventh day, decided to rest. What a privilege it was to share our Lord’s Truth with them!

We have day trips, one-on-one meetings, and a lot of debriefing in our future, and we hope to approach each of them with joy. Please continue to pray for our steadfastness in the Spirit and devotion to the Word! Once we’re back, we will process our time abroad alongside the Scotland team and with the guidance of our fearless leader, Dr. Kristen White. We’ll also prepare for our Share & Tell luncheon, taking place at 12:30 on Sunday, July 19th. (Last day to RSVP is July 15.) It’ll be here before we know it!

As Isaac headed up our English-teaching efforts, he’s most excited to share his experience planning and executing each session, including the introduction of Scripture to an unreached village.

Betsy’s greatest blessing was her role as a Bible teacher at the week-long day camp, where she taught different names of God to kids who’d never heard of Him before.

A member of a young church plant, Braxton is eager to expound on what the Lord has taught him and how he hopes to use the knowledge he’s gained.

Lastly, Maggie’s grown in her understanding of God’s design for the stewardship of both His task and His people, and she urges you to come and see how He’ll use this ragtag group of young adults to fulfill the Great Commission set before us all: to exalt His great name among the nations!

(Ending) With Joy,

The Omega Team in West Asia
