Omega Scotland: Last Update

Lily and Anna spent this week helping the Lambhill church with their holiday club, which is their version of VBS. After preparing for two weeks and painting sets, they got to see children come in and hear about God’s word.

They had a ton of new kids come in that have never even stepped foot in church before, which was such an answered prayer, as they did not expect to have many kids, especially new ones. The girls were team leaders, led craft time, games, dances to some songs, and even participated in some silly leader challenges to make the kids laugh.

The theme was: Jesus is my Superhero. This meant the kids got to hear stories about Jesus and his hero’s mission to save the world. Lily and Anna got to see the children engage with God’s word and get excited about learning, which answered so many prayers.

Please continue to pray for the children of Lambhill that they would continue coming to the church to hear about God’s word.

This week, Abby was finally able to serve through music after being provided with a violin. She played during several church services in Govan, accompanying the organist in hymns and performing “In Christ Alone“ as a violin solo, too.

Throughout the week, she met with some young women from the church over coffee to talk about their walks with the Lord and encourage them as they sought to faithfully follow Christ. She also had the opportunity to reflect on everything the Lord has been teaching her during a meeting with a woman’s worker from 20schemes to talk about her experience so far.

The Friday Bible study began a new study through the book of Acts, and Games for Life welcomed more attendees than usual. Since this was her final Friday with the group, it was also a meaningful time to say goodbye to many of the people she had grown to know and love. On Thursday, the family she is staying with invited her to a concert celebrating Govan’s rich history through songs written by local artists, giving her a deeper appreciation for the community she has been serving.

Although there is far more to share than can fit in a short update, the Lord has continued to teach Abby that loving people well and genuinely caring for them opens countless opportunities to point them to Christ. It has been incredibly encouraging to witness the ways He is already at work, and she is confident that He will continue working long after her time in Scotland comes to an end.

Until all the nations hear,
